John Ogu assina pelo Hapoel Be’er Sheva - Israel

Nigeria international John Ogu has been confirmed as a Hapoel Be’er Sheva player having sealed a switch to Israel.

The towering defensive midfielder was previously with Academica de Coimbra, but ended his tenure with the Portuguese side at the end of last season.

The Nigerian had fallen out with management at the club and was not slow to express his unhappiness. An avid Twitter user, Ogu was known to vent about his tense situation with A Briosa.

Upon his arrival in Israel, Ogu spoke about his joy at changing clubs. As reported by MTN Football, the midfielder said: “I am happy that this has scaled through. It’s being a difficult time for me, but now is the time to re-launch my career.”

“I can’t wait to get back to action.”

Ogu previously played for Portuguese sides Atletico CP and Uniao de Leira, and also featured for Almeria’s B team, in Spain. To date, he has 13 caps for Nigeria, but was overlooked for Stephen Keshi’s World Cup squad.
